In-Person Electronic Notarization
In-Person Electronic Notary (IPEN)
We come to you, then complete the signing on BlueNotary. The document is electronic. Texas requires both of us to be physically present.
In Texas, an electronic notarization is not the same as an online (remote) notarization. The Secretary of State’s guidance and Business & Commerce Code Chapter 322 (the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act) allow a traditional notary to apply an electronic signature and seal when both the notary and the signer are in the same place. That is IPEN: in-person electronic notarization.
Veritas Notary LLC performs IPEN sessions onBlueNotary. You do not print the packet. We still travel to your home, office, hospital, or title company in Greenville and Hunt County, then open the electronic documents together.
What to bring
- Valid government-issued photo ID
- A device, or we can use ours, to join the BlueNotary session
- Documents left unsigned until we are together
Fees
IPEN uses the same Texas statutory notarial-act fees as a paper signing. Because we travel to you, the Hunt County or mileage travel fee applies. The $25 online-notarization fee under § 406.111 is for remote video sessions, not for this in-person electronic meeting.

What cannot be electronic
Wills, codicils, and testamentary trusts are excluded from UETA (§ 322.003) and must be executed in person on paper (Estates Code § 251.051). If the receiving office will not accept an electronic seal, we will complete a traditional paper notarization instead.
