Apostille Services
Texas Apostille Facilitation
Documents bound for use abroad need the right seal in the right format. We notarize your documents the way the Texas Secretary of State requires, prepare the request forms, submit to the SOS Authentications Unit, and return your apostilled originals — correct the first time.
What's Included — $150 per Document
One flat facilitation fee per document covers the full handling, start to finish:
SOS-Required Notarization
Notarization in Texas Secretary of State-required format — true and accurate certificate, seal, signature, and date. Available in person or by remote online notarization.
Request Form Preparation
Preparation of SOS Form 2102, Request for Universal Apostille (Form 2103 for adoptions) — country, document count, and fee math double-checked before it ships.
Submission to the SOS
Your packet goes to the Texas SOS Authentications Unit in Austin by tracked mail, with a prepaid, pre-addressed return envelope inside — the SOS seals your apostilled original in it and tenders it straight to the carrier.
Tracked Return to You
We monitor the return leg and hand your apostilled originals back to you with proactive updates when the packet is mailed and when it comes back.
Fees
The $150 facilitation fee is itemized separately from pass-throughs, which are billed at actual cost with no markup.
The all-in total is collected before your packet goes to the SOS. See the full fee schedule for notarial act pricing.
Timeline
Mail-based from Greenville — the Texas Secretary of State does not publish a processing time for mailed requests, so we won't quote you a number we can't verify. What we do: check current conditions at intake and give you a realistic estimate before anything ships.
Tell us your deadline up front so we can flag any risk before you commit.
Before You Book
- Confirm the destination country accepts Texas apostilles — and, if your documents will be notarized online, that it accepts apostilles on online notarizations. Unsure? Ask us first.
- Bring the original document. Texas accepts Texas-issued originals, official certified copies (recordable documents such as birth certificates and court records must have been issued within the past 5 years), or documents we notarize for you in person or online. Photocopies of certified or notarized records are not accepted by the SOS.
- Non-recordable documents need an owner statement — you'll sign a short statement about the document in front of the notary. Bring valid ID.
- Plan your timeline. The Texas SOS does not publish a processing time for mailed requests — we'll give you a current estimate at your appointment (no rush or expedite option is offered). Tell us your deadline up front so we can flag any risk.
What's Not Included
- Document drafting or legal advice of any kind.
- Federal documents (FBI background checks, immigration and naturalization records) — those apostille through the U.S. Department of State, not Texas.
- Copies of certified records or documents that don't meet SOS requirements — we'll tell you up front if yours doesn't qualify.
An apostille certifies the authority of the Texas official — not the content of the document.
